picky eaters?!

My sweet and perfect Scarlett will eat anything...healthy. the other night my mom ordered pizza and Scarlett said,"Mommo, i can not eat this, i need some broccoli." i have really made an effort with her to get her to eat healthy, and my hard work has paid off. When she wants a snack she asks for fruit, not sweets. i am doing weight watchers to try and loose all of the weight i gained by being pregnant for the last few years, so i like to think i cook pretty healthy. i want to do what is best for my kids in this area, so i am sooo proud of scarlett and her eating habits...then there is owen. He won't even touch baby food. he is so picky!!!!!! i have been forced to put him on big people food. he will take a few bites of something and then shake his head"no" and want something else. and no he does not want things like fruit and veggies, he wants things like pizza and macaroni and cheese. i had to get creative. so i made some whole wheat pizza the other night and he loved it. but who has time to make pizza from scratch every night?! not me, i will tell you that. this just means i have to think of other things. the other day i was searching for healthy cookbooks and i found this one...


So far i love it. it takes a little time to puree everything but it is worth it. Plus, Owne has been eating a few of the purees and he likes them.

We went to space and got some glow in the dark dinosaurs!

Yesterday mike took the day off so we went to the zoo and the space center...in Alamogordo.woohoo! those of you who know where alamogordo is will understand the Woohoo. It was the best day ever. we had soooo much fun and the kids were really good. the only meltdown was when we were eating at Mcdonalds and scarlett wanted to play on the playground. We were in kind of a hurry and we needed to go to Home Depot. I love home Depot because they have carts with steering wheels that look like race cars. that keeps both of my kids occupied for a while. GENIUS! but scarlett wanted to play at the park, not go to home depot. she was yelling "i dont want to go to the "hen" depot!" But once we got there she was all smiles. here are some pictures of space. Scarlett kept telling people that we went to space. and they had an elevator in space and glow in the dark dinosaurs, which she named "Tweety Bird and Holly"

Owen's new obsession

Mike has always played the guitar to our kids, so both of them are very comforted by music. Now that we have two kids, there is not much time to play guitar with them. The other night Mike got the guitar out for the first time in a long time and started playing. Owen Would not stop staring at it and playing with it. it was sooo cute, i had to take tons of pictures. so here are a few...




He played with the guitar for 45 minutes. those of you with kids know that that is amazing, considering a ten month olds attention span.Oh, and Owen has started standing on his own!!!!! pretty soon he will be walking and then i will be chasing two babies. Yay for me!!!!!

the other day i was about to take a shower, so i put owen in his crib, i cant trust him to stay out of anything...ever. before i jumped in i told scarlett to go give owen some toys. when i got out of the shower i went in to check on them and i saw that she had taken every sigle toy in the room and put it in his crib. so ther are some pictures of that.
