my kid is a genius!

the other day i was outside painting some shelves, and scarlett was outside with me. she had gathered up all of the nipples for the baby's bottles and she was stacking them on top of each other. she had stacked them so high that they were starting to curve and fall over(kind of like a curved bridge). she looked at me with a really serious face and said "look mommy i built a cantilever". i was laughing so hard! she knows what a cantilever is from a curious george movie. i had to look up the definition on wikipedia...she is smarter than me! but a cantilever is a type of bridge or a platform that is anchored by weight on the base of the platform...for those of you who dont know that.

Scarlett's Birthday!

Scarlett turned two on Sunday. i hate that she is growing up...but she is so much fun right now! she had a great birthday party. we had it on saturday. she got lots of toys and books...those are her favorite things. i thought that her birthday would be boring this year because i am pretty miserable and i didnt plan as much this year as i did last year. she had a blast...as soon as she opened her presents she was in the toy zone. she did not want to be bothered by anything. she didnt want to eat she didnt want to talk to anyone...she didnt even pee for a few hours...i guess she thought it would take to much time away from her toys. she still wakes up in the mornig and sees her new toys and she gets soooo excited.

another funny story.

I keep telling mike that scarlett is always listening to everything we say...even if she is not in the room she can still hear us! tonight we were watching tv and there was a girl on that had a big butt and mike said "man she has a big booty!" so then we hear scarlett say mommy has a big booty! so i said thank you and gave mike a dirty look. i think he is beginning to learn what not to say.

a funny story about scarlett

Scarlett is really into copying everything people do. We were in church the other night and there was a lady doing sign language and i noticed that Scarlett was being really quiet...which is never a good sign. then i noticed everyone around us laughing. i looked down at scarlett and she was looking at the lady doing sign language and she had a very serious look on her face and she was copying the lady almost exactly! kids are great!

ahhhh!

i am not sure how i can shrink my pictures. oh well i am trying! tonight i went to the hospital for the 50th time this pregnancy and found out i was having contractions. they weren't serious enough to be on medication but i did have to get a shot to make them stop. i just hope i dont have to keep getting them. i am really ready to have the baby but not ready enough. i want him to be healthy and safe so i need him to stay in my tummy a little longer.

i think i did it!

so i am finally trying to do this blog thing. i hope it works...if it doesn't i don't want to write a bunch of stuff that no one will ever read so this is where i will end my first blog.
