Owen and his ATTITUDE...

Let me tell you what, Owen has developed this attitude that amazes us. When he does not like something he gives us the mad look below. Then he gets introuble and gives us the innocent look you see below. His favorite word is NO, but he does not just say no he shrieks the word no, and slaps his hands down at his sides. WHAT! It is amazing!

I found my CAMERA!!!!!!

Scarlett and Naomi making snow angels. We miss you Liebermans! Come HOME!

Sledding with Gad, Bens older brother. Notice Scarletts mismatched gloves. I can never keep gloves or socks paired up! You moms know what I am talking about!

Owen and his best friend Ben. I love this picture! it looks like they are having a tlak with eachother.

Owen and his Lakers outfit. Notice Owens hair, it is short.

Chirstmas tent. We bought this for the kids as a gift for both of them, and they LOVE it.

Fun at the park with Nana and Papaw.

Owen and Scarlett at my brothers house at Chirstmas. I am surprised I got such a good pictures of them, because they were absolute maniacs that night!

My confessions...

I watched Oprah the other day and the topic was about confessions of motherhood. Then I read a friends blog and she posted her confessions, and it was so helpful, I thought I would post mine. On the outside, I might look like a decent mom, but what goes on behind closed doors might shock you. For those of you who know me, I thrive on shock value, so here it goes.

*My husband wakes up with the kids in the morning, and I lay in bed for 30 minutes and enjoy the peace and quiet before I get up. I keep my eyes closed.

*There have been times where I knew Mike was almost home so I did not change the poopy diaper, so that he could. ( I hate changing pooy diapers!)

*Sometimes on saturdays I like to put Owen down for his nap and put on a movie for Scarlett. Then I take a little nap while "watching" the movie with her.

* I write letters upon letters to my kids, for them to read when they are older.
I usually write them during boring college classes. The teachers think I am working really hard on something!

*Owens nose runs constantly. Sometimes I choose not to wipe his nose because I don't want to stop what I am doing, or I will just grab the closest thing to me and use that to wipe his nose.

*I like to let the kids make huge messes with paint or food...outside of course!

* There have been times when I say I need to do schoolwork and need someone to watch the kids, and then I just rest.

* I like to go out with my girlfriends sometimes and we drink lots of wine.

*I never let my kids cry something out. I allways run to them, pick them up and hold them until they stop crying. And I love every second of it.

* I held Scarlett during every single nap she took for the first year and a half of her life.

* Scarlett still likes to sneak into our bed at night and we don't care.

Those are my confessions. I think that being a mom is the greatest job you will ever have. I also think that all of the "experts" are not so smart, and I am a firm believer that every child is different. If you just get to know your child and parent based on their needs you will be great at parenting!

This house!!!

So we sold our condo to a man who sold us his house. It was a trade deal. Because of the way loans are going these days, everything is a headache. It is like convincing a company to hire you. I have written so many letters explaining why we should get this laon on this house. I am tired of writing letters! It makes things a lot harder when you are a sole proprieter and own your own business. It also makes things harder when that business is in its slow season! We finally got approved for the loan, moved into the house and began making all the plans for what we wanted to do to the house. We have not stared painting, because I just can not decide exactly what I want to do! I have so many ideas! I will take some pictiures of the new house and post them as soon as I can.

Red Shoes and Pictures

I have a pair of red shoes. Owen is obscessed with wearing other peoples shoes. But there is one pair of my shoes he wants the most. My red shoes! A few weeks ago I found both of them in the trash, and then three days ago I found both of them in the toilet! He either hates them or loves them, I don't know which.

Finally! Here is an UPDATE!

It has been a while since I updated this thing. I could not access it for a long time for some reason. So much has happened since the last time I was on this blog. I will start with Christmas. This year we had a great Christmas. The kids got a tent with tunnels and they are crazy about it. About two weeks before Christmas we made an offer on a house that was twice the size of our condo, and we were pretty sure this owner of the house was going to accept it. So we bought a big tent for the kids for Christmas (it takes up our entire living room) and then the offer fell through after negotiating three times. The guy was asking too much for the house, so we backed out. The house had a 450 sq ft. playroom, so a big tent was a perfect gift. Needless to say we are even more crowded in our condo now. YAY!!!!

Janruary started out fine, just a little irritating living in our condo, but for the most part everything was good. Then on the 28th of Janruary I got a call from Michael Kelly's telling me that he was in the hospital with conjestive heart failure. He was here in Ruidoso for three days, and the doctors said they found no sign of infection in his blood which was good news, but they needed to know why his legs were swelling and his heart was racing. His parents took him to a cardiologist in Roswell and they looked at his heart and found that there was a massive infection and it had severely damaged his heart. He was taken in a helecopter to Albuquerque and admitted into the cardiac ward. They ran a bizillion tests and found out that Michael had gone to the dentist two years ago and he had a cavity, and the doctor did not take the whole tooth out, and the tooth eventually abcessed and the infection spread to Michaels heart and almost killed him. He was there for two weeks before the doctors performed open heart surgery. It was a 14 hour surgery, and the Doctor said his heart was really bad. Michael had to have two valves replaces and they did some other repairs to the damaged areas. He was able to come home a week and a half after surgery. The whole time Michael was in the hospital God was using him to be a light for Him. It was a very difficult thing for him and his loved ones to go through, but God was with everyone the whole time. I was in Albuquerque 4 weekends in a row to be with him and his family.

After the third weekend I was in Albuquerque, I came home to a sick Owen. He started throwing up on Saturday night, which does not mean much for Owen (he has a gag reflex like a bulemic person), and he was really conjested. He just got worse on Sunday, and finally on Monday we took him to the ER and they admitted him for signs of Puemonia. It was aweful, he got poked with needles so much, and they kept him on breathing treatments which he hates! The night they admitted him, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling so sick, so Mike stayed with Owen and I went home with the stomach flu. The next day Scarlett started feeling bad and so we took her to the ER and they said she was okay but to watch her. She ended up getting double ear infections, but never had to be in the hospital. Owen got to come home after three days and stay on breathing treatments every three hours. Both of the kids were coughing so much that they were puking. It was an AWESOME week! Mike and I had been planning on going to a marriage retreat, which he sold his Lakers tickets for, so I felt like we really needed to go. I mean how many guys sell Lakers tickets so they can take their wives to a marriage retreat? After our terrible week we decided to leave the kids with my mom and Greg and go on the retreat. It was well worth it.

When we got home from the retreat, the kids were healthy, and everything was getting better, and then we got an offer on our condo.A man offered a trade for our condo for his house. The house was a house we had looked at three years ago and loved, but we did not want to accept an offer then. We had been prequalified for a loan in December and so when we decided to accept the offer (which was way under what we qualified for) I thought there was no rush to get the financing. The day we decided to accept the offer, I had an appointment at 1pm to get my ring apprasied. It only to 15 minutes for that and so I decided to spend the last 45 minutes of my lunch break talking to our mortgage broker. When I got to his office He told mr that we had two hours to get this deal done and sign contracts in order to get an FHA loan. It was the most stressful two hours of my life! On top of it all Mike was busy at work, so he could not talk to me and I had to make all of the lifechanging decisions without him and hope he was cool with it! That was three weeks ago and because of all of the financing problems in America, we are still wating on our loan to close. We were pre approved, but at this point anything could happen in underwriting and we might not get the house. We are praying that we do, but it has been nothing but stress for three weeks! A lot of decisions we are making are going to be affected by this, so it is a big deal that this happens. If it does not happen, I guess God has another plan for us.

Some other crappy things that have happened:
1. Our hard drive crashed on our business computer, and we have not done our taxes yet. We were supposed to meet with our accountant and the computer crashed two days before that meeting.
2.We have a buyer for the business, but we can not sell it until the house thing goes through.
3. Spring break was not good for business. We depend on spring break money to get us through april, and we don't have that money this year. Thank God I have a job too.
4. I am in School full time. Yes, it is my fault I took on too much, but I am so overwhelmed right now. I am in a math class and I have a 69% which is a huge accomplishment for me, but it has put me in warning of being on acedemic probation. I have all A's and B's in my other classes!

Oh well. Thats life! I will try to get some pictures up soon. Carrie

halloween pictures in december!

i finally got the halloween pictures off of my camera and on to my computer. but then i erased the halloween pictures of the kids. so now all i have is pictures of mike and i. but i think they are pretty funny so here we are! we were courtney love and kurt Cobain. and we won the contest! we had so much fun on halloween. Owen was a dragon and scarlett was a fairy princess. they were soooo cute! Owen had a littl surgical procedure on October 30th, and so he was not really in the halloween spirit. we took them trick or treating, and then they stayed at my mom's while we went to our friends house for a halloween party.
