Finally! Here is an UPDATE!

It has been a while since I updated this thing. I could not access it for a long time for some reason. So much has happened since the last time I was on this blog. I will start with Christmas. This year we had a great Christmas. The kids got a tent with tunnels and they are crazy about it. About two weeks before Christmas we made an offer on a house that was twice the size of our condo, and we were pretty sure this owner of the house was going to accept it. So we bought a big tent for the kids for Christmas (it takes up our entire living room) and then the offer fell through after negotiating three times. The guy was asking too much for the house, so we backed out. The house had a 450 sq ft. playroom, so a big tent was a perfect gift. Needless to say we are even more crowded in our condo now. YAY!!!!

Janruary started out fine, just a little irritating living in our condo, but for the most part everything was good. Then on the 28th of Janruary I got a call from Michael Kelly's telling me that he was in the hospital with conjestive heart failure. He was here in Ruidoso for three days, and the doctors said they found no sign of infection in his blood which was good news, but they needed to know why his legs were swelling and his heart was racing. His parents took him to a cardiologist in Roswell and they looked at his heart and found that there was a massive infection and it had severely damaged his heart. He was taken in a helecopter to Albuquerque and admitted into the cardiac ward. They ran a bizillion tests and found out that Michael had gone to the dentist two years ago and he had a cavity, and the doctor did not take the whole tooth out, and the tooth eventually abcessed and the infection spread to Michaels heart and almost killed him. He was there for two weeks before the doctors performed open heart surgery. It was a 14 hour surgery, and the Doctor said his heart was really bad. Michael had to have two valves replaces and they did some other repairs to the damaged areas. He was able to come home a week and a half after surgery. The whole time Michael was in the hospital God was using him to be a light for Him. It was a very difficult thing for him and his loved ones to go through, but God was with everyone the whole time. I was in Albuquerque 4 weekends in a row to be with him and his family.

After the third weekend I was in Albuquerque, I came home to a sick Owen. He started throwing up on Saturday night, which does not mean much for Owen (he has a gag reflex like a bulemic person), and he was really conjested. He just got worse on Sunday, and finally on Monday we took him to the ER and they admitted him for signs of Puemonia. It was aweful, he got poked with needles so much, and they kept him on breathing treatments which he hates! The night they admitted him, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling so sick, so Mike stayed with Owen and I went home with the stomach flu. The next day Scarlett started feeling bad and so we took her to the ER and they said she was okay but to watch her. She ended up getting double ear infections, but never had to be in the hospital. Owen got to come home after three days and stay on breathing treatments every three hours. Both of the kids were coughing so much that they were puking. It was an AWESOME week! Mike and I had been planning on going to a marriage retreat, which he sold his Lakers tickets for, so I felt like we really needed to go. I mean how many guys sell Lakers tickets so they can take their wives to a marriage retreat? After our terrible week we decided to leave the kids with my mom and Greg and go on the retreat. It was well worth it.

When we got home from the retreat, the kids were healthy, and everything was getting better, and then we got an offer on our condo.A man offered a trade for our condo for his house. The house was a house we had looked at three years ago and loved, but we did not want to accept an offer then. We had been prequalified for a loan in December and so when we decided to accept the offer (which was way under what we qualified for) I thought there was no rush to get the financing. The day we decided to accept the offer, I had an appointment at 1pm to get my ring apprasied. It only to 15 minutes for that and so I decided to spend the last 45 minutes of my lunch break talking to our mortgage broker. When I got to his office He told mr that we had two hours to get this deal done and sign contracts in order to get an FHA loan. It was the most stressful two hours of my life! On top of it all Mike was busy at work, so he could not talk to me and I had to make all of the lifechanging decisions without him and hope he was cool with it! That was three weeks ago and because of all of the financing problems in America, we are still wating on our loan to close. We were pre approved, but at this point anything could happen in underwriting and we might not get the house. We are praying that we do, but it has been nothing but stress for three weeks! A lot of decisions we are making are going to be affected by this, so it is a big deal that this happens. If it does not happen, I guess God has another plan for us.

Some other crappy things that have happened:
1. Our hard drive crashed on our business computer, and we have not done our taxes yet. We were supposed to meet with our accountant and the computer crashed two days before that meeting.
2.We have a buyer for the business, but we can not sell it until the house thing goes through.
3. Spring break was not good for business. We depend on spring break money to get us through april, and we don't have that money this year. Thank God I have a job too.
4. I am in School full time. Yes, it is my fault I took on too much, but I am so overwhelmed right now. I am in a math class and I have a 69% which is a huge accomplishment for me, but it has put me in warning of being on acedemic probation. I have all A's and B's in my other classes!

Oh well. Thats life! I will try to get some pictures up soon. Carrie

halloween pictures in december!

i finally got the halloween pictures off of my camera and on to my computer. but then i erased the halloween pictures of the kids. so now all i have is pictures of mike and i. but i think they are pretty funny so here we are! we were courtney love and kurt Cobain. and we won the contest! we had so much fun on halloween. Owen was a dragon and scarlett was a fairy princess. they were soooo cute! Owen had a littl surgical procedure on October 30th, and so he was not really in the halloween spirit. we took them trick or treating, and then they stayed at my mom's while we went to our friends house for a halloween party.

Owen is 1!

Owen turned 1 in October! it has taken me a while to post the pictures, sorry. i have been so busy. also it was not an easy birthday for me. i was sad because he was turning 1. his first year of life was difficult for me but i think i have worked through it and am now able to accept that is is healthy and normal. I had a very hard time believeing that he wa okay early on because when i was pregnant i was in a car accident and it caused me to have PTSD. i was so worried that the accident had caused some kind of major damage to him, and then i ended up having him a month early. I am happy to say it has been a 8 months since i had a panic attack, and i feel like i am happy again. I can enjoy owen and not worry about him so much. i cant begin to tell you haow good it is to play with your child and not worry if the way he moves his arm is normal, or the way he moves his head is normal, or was that sound he made normal and so on. i wanted him to have the most perfect birthday and i feel like HE had a great time. he got lots of presents, and he had his own cake which he destroyed! he had a great 1st birthday. i feel so blessed to have owen and i am so incredibly thankful that God protected him. He is the most amazing easy going baby. he is always happy and has the most insanly gorgeous eyes. we are so lucky to have him.

Flying J

My cousin Adam and his wife Trina and their new baby Cy were in town. we got to hang out quite a bit and it was so nice to see Cy for the first time. we love him so much! so the pictures of baby Cy are above and there is one picture of Owen and his first girlfriend ,Gracie, too. WE took the kids to the flying J. for those of you who dont know what that is, it is a western dinner show. My, sort of aunt and uncle, own it and perform in it. so that is why the babies have cowboy hats on too. so cute!

Fall in Ruidoso

Every year, in the fall, we take the kids up to the ski area and take pictures. We took some food up there and had a picnic. it was freezing but so much fun. the pictures of scarlett are some of my favorite ones. when we tell her to show us her mad face we get the look that you see in the pictutre above. and in the picture where she is standing a little strange, that is her posing, which she does for every picture now. i tell her to just stand still and smile but she does not have time to listen to that with all of her posing ideas running through her head. thus we have posing pictures constantly! i love her imagination and humor!

This is how we cling to our guns and religion!

My dad got scarlett a 22 for her birthday. it is pink. i am sure that some people will have a problem with this, but i dont care. i was raised around guns, i know gun safty, and i turned out just fine. my kids will be raised around guns and they will know gun safty, and they will be better for it. hunting is not a bad thing. if people did not hunt and eat meat, there would be no human race today. so thank God that people killed animals and ate them. if the new president of the united states wants to take them away, he is going to have a hard time taking them away. But good luck to him.

These are scarlett's pet turtles. we have to see them daily. they live at my mom's house because we have no place to put them. but now they are hibernating, and scarlett tells EVERYONE that they will be back in june. but for right now they have to sleep for a long time.
